A wealthy woman!

The key to understanding the account of the 'virtuous' woman in Proverbs 31 is found in the Epistle to the Ephesians, where the body of Christ which is the Church is likened to a man's wife, and Christ Himself to be the husband.  (Ephesians 5 v 22/25).

Paul says "This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the Church."  The last chapter of Proverbs contains not a proverbs but a prophecy - "the words of King Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him."  (Proverbs verse 1) This prophecy is now being fulfilled by the Church which is the Body of Christ!

"Who can find a virtuous woman?"  For her price is far above rubies."  Proverbs 31 v 10.  The price paid is the precious blood of Christ "knowing that not by corruptible things, by silver or by gold, you were redeemed, BUT BY THE PRECIOUS BLOOD AS OF A LAMB WITHOUT SPOT, THE BLOOD OF CHRIST."

She is a virtuous woman.  A 'WEALTHY' woman, the Hebrew word translated virtuous (Strongs 2428 - chayll) means also 'wealth, substance, riches and strength (of mind and body)'.  She is 'wealthy' because like Abraham's servant sent to win a wife for his son Isaac, SHE TOO IS SENT TO WIN OTHERS TO BE JOINED TO THE LORD IN ONE SPIRIT, and for this all the goods of the Master are in her hand.  Hallelujah!

His strength to be made perfect in her weakness, "so that she will have no need of spoil."

"The heart of her husband trusts in her."  {Proverbs 31 v 11).

NOT ONLY DOES SHE TRUST GOD, BUT GOD TRUST HER!  How does he trust her?  By letting her walk in darkness and have no light!  He trusts her by causing her to walk by FAITH and not by SIGHT!  He trusts her in all those circumstances to rest in His character of faithfulness!  He trusts that she will know for sure that she knows HIM and knows that He is not a man that HE should lie, neither the son of man that HE should repent.  Has HE said, and shall HE not do it?!  Or has HE spoken, and shall HE not make it good?"  (Numbers 23 v 19).
